Since its establishment in 2018, the AWARFA-N has developed from the concept of a single continental network to maturing Regional and country networks. More recently one regional network (AWARFA East Africa) and Country networks are being established around the continent. A consequence of this development is a broader buy-in by stakeholders as well as increased responsibilities for the regional and country chapters to ensure proper operation of their networks.

The various animal resources networks work through a decentralized and inter-connected continental network of stakeholders that are organized on a regional and country basis in Chapters. It is vital that all entities within a continental network embody the same principles and values whilst operating within different arrangements as suited to their specific geo-political situation. These requirements serve to create a greater sense of identity and coherence within the continent.

More news on the individual country launches is found under each network (under development).
