Background
Gezira University was established for the purpose of serving the community and linking education with development requirements and making it more relevant and related to reality, human needs and the environment.
This is evident from the content of the educational message entrusted to her, which specified her job to "study the Sudanese environment, especially the rural environment, to identify its issues and conduct research about them."
With this concept, the University of Gezira began its journey by touching on the problems of its society, training professional cadres capable of investing in the potential of the Sudanese countryside, expanding industrial sciences and skills necessary to promote and develop agriculture, conducting scientific and applied research to employ technology to serve development issues, and teaching medical sciences with a special focus on the Sudanese rural environment.
