Zambia AWFISHNET chapter launched

A two day consultative workshop was organized by AWFISHNET with the support of AU-IBAR to establish and launch the Zambian Chapter. AWFISHNET-Zambia chapter was launched on 6th October, 2021 by the Honourable Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Mr Makozo Chikote, in Lusaka, Zambia. The Zambian Chapter was launched with the goal of establishing, raising awareness and attracting membership in Zambia. AWFISHNET-Zambia aims to facilitate collaboration and cooperation between its members and other relevant stakeholders in order to strengthen the role of women in the fish value chain. The network also aims to expand market and marketing opportunities for women fish entrepreneurs.
The workshop drew participation from the women in the fish value chain in Zambia (25) , Technical Officers from the Ministry of Fisheries and livestock(5) , World fish (1), AWFISHNET Youth Representative (1) as well as AU-IBAR Staff (3). In total 35 people participated in the workshop.
